My research is rooted in a socio-cultural and sociolinguistic perspective and focuses primarily on discourse analysis, with particular emphasis on myths, stereotypes, and the language of values. A central strand of my work concerns gender and language, including the analysis of gendered representations in media, politics, popular culture, as well as specialised professional and academic contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I examine both specialised and public discourses, paying particular attention to the ways in which meaning, ideology, and power relations are constructed and negotiated through language. I consistently adopt a critical stance, drawing on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). Methodologically, my studies combine qualitative discourse-analytical approaches with corpus-based and contrastive perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More recently, my research has expanded to include issues of knowledge mediation and language adaptation in specialised communication, language-and-gender issues in telecinematic and audiovisual discourse, as well as metadiscourse in professional and institutional settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
