The workshops were titled \u201cEj, to brzmi podobnie! Czyli o etymologii i pokrewie\u0144stwie s\u0142\u00f3w kilka\u201d and \u201cAr ju spiking or m\u00f3wisz tu mi? Czyli o tym, co angielski robi w polskim\u201d; they discussed the notions of <strong>etymology<\/strong>, <strong>language families<\/strong>, <strong>loanwords<\/strong>, and English-derived <strong>neologisms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal was to acquaint students with the theoretical framework of lexical borrowing, present examples of folk etymology, and illustrate how languages are inherently connected. The students had the opportunity to reflect on how other languages influence Polish and on the types of borrowing.
