Agnieszka Ziora

PhD candidate

Agnieszka Ziora is a Ph.D. student at the Doctoral School of University of Silesia in Katowice. The main aim of her Ph.D. dissertation is the analysis of sentiment and values in citizen science discourse online within the framework of appraisal theory and with the use of corpus linguistics. Additionally, for the purpose of the study, she is compiling a sizeable citizen science corpus and a tool for its analysis in cooperation with Dominik Gęgotek.

She is a member of the NEOlinguists research club and a member of the DIGESPEDI research team. She presented on several scientific conferences, including International Young Linguists’ Conference ATENA 2025, Oriental Meetings in Sosnowiec, and IX Konferencja Międzynarodowa Uczelni Lingwistyczno-Technicznej w Przasnyszu. She has given presentations on the language of values in free software discourse and corpus linguistics.
